Knock-out bars
|
|
These Knock-out bars will save the inside of your lathes' spindle from marring while removing collets, centers or sleeves! Don't use that scrap steel bar or the long screwdriver sitting on your bench! NOW with a tapped end and matching tapped brass rings! Instead of the brass ring press fit on, (shown), we now make these threaded. If you have more than one size lathe with different spindle ID's no need to purchase several complete knock-out bars! You may now purchase extra brass rings for $6.00 each, (one comes with each knock-out bar of the respective size ordered).
The knurled handled bar is 5/8 inch, steel with a steel eye bolt threaded into one end for hanging/storing.
The KB-1s' soft brass, (non-marring), working end is .990 inch in diameter to match your spindles' 1 inch inside dimension. The overall length of the bar is 16 1/2 inches long.
The KB-.75s' soft brass, (non-marring), working end is .740 inch in diameter to match your spindles' 3/4 inch inside dimension. The overall length of the bar is 16 1/2 inches long.
NOW FOR THE LARGER 1.375 INCH ID SPINDLE!
The KB-1.375'S soft brass, (non-marring), working end is .740 inch in diameter to match your spindles' 3/4 inch inside dimension. The overall length of the bar is 16 1/2 inches long.

Our latest reproductions for the 9/10, (pictured), 13, 14 1/2 or 16 inch South Bend lathes*! This is that little dauber or quill oiler that almost every lathe is missing, (*SBL used the same "oiler" part number for the 13, 14 1/2 and 16 inch lathes). You can wait and try to find an original on Ebay, (selling upwards of $75 at times!), or just go ahead and get it right here to finish off your restoration or just because you can't stand that little hole on the tailstock being empty. These are used to place a drop of lubricant onto the tip of a dead center to provide the neccessary lubrication. The old timers used white lead, which a small amount was kept right there in the dauber's hole on the tailstock, (not advisable for health reasons nowadays).
